Google Announce More Updates for February

According to Google’s official blog, ‘Inside Search’, over 40 updates were released during the month of February, one of the biggest being another Google Panda update. The newest update, which puts us on Panda 3.3 only a year after launching, is again targeting the quality of written content on websites.  Thus, if you still have inferior content on your site, or content that can be considered out of date, you might want to look at rehashing it sooner rather than later.

Another of the updates concerns website links although the actual changes haven’t been disclosed as such. Google’s onsite disclosure reads as follows:

“Link evaluation. We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often rearchitect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable”

This cryptic disclosure doesn’t say an awful lot about the details of the update it has to be said but whatever the changes are you can guarantee it will affect a high percentage of current SEO practices.
