Google Privacy Concerns

After their heavily criticised privacy settings were launched, a recent report was made into whether Google was still preferred by many. The search engine giant has experienced criticism for the way which they have handled their privacy laws, but this seems to have unharmed their popularity. This is because an extraordinary 83% of those who were polled viewed Google as their favourite search engine. Their closest rival was Yahoo, with 6% preferring them instead.

Carried out by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, the survey also found that 59% of the people who were polled used a search engine on at least one occasion a day. This shows that the popularity of search engines has nearly doubled in eight years. In regards to SEO, this survey demonstrates that the focus of professionals who specialise in SEO should still concentrate on bettering organic search ranking improvement.

It is an amazing fact that Google’s revenues were an astonishing $36.5billion last year and this was an increase of $3billion on the previous year’s figures. The popularity of Google and how high their revenues are demonstrate why they continue to be very popular when compared to other search engines, such as Bing and Yahoo.
