Panda Wants Fresh Content To Win SEO Battle

Since its inception in 2011 Google Panda has been making quite a stir, and a lot of low quality websites have been scrapped as a result of the new algorithms. Not only does Google now read websites and rank them based on internal links, back links and social media ‘Liking’ and ‘Tweeting’, it also checks the quality of the content on the site to ensure it isn’t content farmed junk that is irrelevant or makes very poor reading.

The Google Freshness algorithm that came with Google Panda goes one step further though and checks the newness or freshness of the content on a website. This means that in order to continue ranking well you need to update your content on a regular basis, and there’s no better way to do this than with a blog.

Of course the content of your blog has to remain top quality, and if you can make it valuable to your readers and shareable at the same time then so much the better. Adding ‘share’ buttons and a comments box encourages reader interaction which is again, something that Google looks for when ranking.

If you don’t have time to write a daily blog yourself encourage guest bloggers to add to your site, or alternatively hire a content writer to do it for you.

Fresh site content is a must so don’t overlook it when planning your SEO campaign.
