Is there any point writing a Press Release to help with SEO?

Press releases are a good and natural way of creating backlinks to your company or personal website, but when you consider the time it takes to write a quality press release that is going to grab your reader’s attention you have to wonder if there isn’t a better way to boost your SEO.

A quality press release needs to focus on a special event, a major feat or a big milestone that your company wants to advertise, so they aren’t the type of thing you’ll be writing every week. They need to be completely factual and not opinion based, which can make them offensively boring if you don’t try to liven them up.

On the plus side though, press releases are a great way to get your company details and your achievements out there to the people who matter i.e. your potential customers. They are an organic way to create backlinks and if you choose the right press release site they can work wonders for your SEO.

The questions you need to ask yourself then is do you have anything interesting to put in a press release and do you feel able to write something that will make potential customers visit your website? If not then you might be better off sticking to the SEO techniques you already know work well.
