What does 2012 hold for the SEO Industry?

The do’s and don’ts of SEO change on an annual basis, and according to some experts in the field 2012 is going to be the year for social media. In fact Rand Fishkin, staff member at seoMoz, went as far as to say “SEO without social media will become a relic of the past”.

Whether this prediction comes true or not remains to be seen but it is a fact that social media marketing can boost an SEO campaign tenfold if used in the correct manner. Gone are the days of simply keyword stuffing hundreds of articles on your website; now your best bet of getting widespread internet presence is through the various social media sites.

According to various polls and forums Twitter is probably the best social media site for business promotion but new and interesting sites are now popping up on a regular basis. Google + and Facebook are also both branching out into the business promotion side of things, and if you listen to the expert they are also ones to watch and concentrate on.

Exactly what 2012 holds for the face of SEO is anyone’s guess but you can guarantee it will focus on social media to an extent.
